Accessibility & Accommodation

The Library is committed to providing accessible services and creating an accessible environment. We do our best to provide our materials in alternative formats where they exist. To request an alternative for non-accessible content, please contact the Library for assistance.

We offer Visiting Library Services for members who cannot visit the library in person or have no assistance with picking up and returning materials.

The Main Library has many accessible features, many of which are also available at the MLCC Branch:

  • Street-level access from the main entrance
  • Ramp access from the side entrance and to the outside return drop box
  • 2 elevators; one at the main entrance and the second inside the library toward the back of the building
  • Furniture and shelving spaced with wheelchair and walker clearance
  • Angled bottom shelves
  • Power door operators
  • Accessible washrooms with safety alarms
