Research

Whether you are researching for a book report, looking for reviews, or building your family tree, we can help. Our knowledgeable staff are here to help you access our print collections and point you to the best online resources.

The Peterborough Collection

Located in the quiet study area at the back of the library, the library's local history collection - also known as the Peterborough Collection - includes books, newspapers, maps, cemetery records, directories and other historical material about well-known people, organizations and institutions of the city and county of Peterborough. Some material from surrounding counties is also included.

Browse the Peterborough Collection or ask for help at the Information Desk.

For article and obituary lookups from our microfilm collection of local newspapers (e.g. Peterborough Examiner, Peterborough this Week), you may submit a local research request for additional help for a fee.
